The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)of the Philippines is confident that the country is on the right track on improving its competitiveness rank in the world.
Swiss-based World Economic Forum’s Global Competitiveness Report 2010-2011 showed that the Philippines’ has ranked 83rd, up four notches from last year, out of 139 other economies.

The technology business incubator (TBI) project of the University of the Philippines-Cebu, The Cebu Business Incubator for IT (CebuinIT) has launches its pre-incubation program for technology start-ups.
For the initial launch of the program, CebuinIT sponsors five start-ups in six months cubicle space for six months and basic services that include trainings related to information technology-based business.

The Korean Electric Power Co. (Kepco) electric plant in Naga, Cebu was integrated in the Visayas power grid yesterday with plans to pursue commercial operations by February 2011.
The Kepco power plant will increase the supply and reserved capacity and contribute to the power quality in the grid.
