Metro Cebu has an ever growing field of various industries. One of the biggest is BPO. With the start of the new year, it’s been predicted that the outsourcing business is going to be expanding and venturing into new areas. Can the city cater to this fast growing industry? Can its infrastructure handle the influx of offices and employees in the coming years?

Philip Tan, past president of the Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry, has emphasized the importance of good infrastructure to support the growing economy. With BPO as one of the biggest economic drivers, their demand for office spaces and better infrastructure should be on top of Cebu’s priority list.

Real estate property giants are working hard to provide this need. Buildings and office spaces prepared exactly for this type of business have been popping up in Cebu province, like the Johndorf Tower in Cebu Business Park. Expected to be completed in 2021, the tower, complete with office spaces, penthouses, parking levels, can accommodate up to 3000 people.

But infrastructure is more than just buildings and offices; and Cebu has yet to address those problems as the growing need for better and long lasting solutions is being sought by the BPO industry, and more businesses in the years to come.
