At the heart of Cebu City is an ICT special economic zone, Asiatown IT Park, that aids the sector’s growth from what the industry considers a tier-II destination toward a tier-I status.

Cebu has untapped and low-cost resources, developing infrastructure and lower real estate cost, which makes it more enticing to the knowledge process outsourcing (KPO) market.

The Canadian Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (CanCham) sets up office in Cebu, to strengthen trade relations, investment and labor mobility between Canada and Cebu.

The chamber is a non-profit organization established in 1989 whose mission is to “represent, support, and promote Canada-Philippines business interests.” It provides information, expert briefings on trade and investments issues and networking events for its members and the public.

The CanCham local chapter in Cebu will expand commercial relations between Canadian and Cebu-based businesses and investors. Its CanCham’s conviction that there is a great potential for growth in two-way trade and investment between the two countries.
