Members of Cebu’s Business Process Outsourcing and Information Technology (BPO/IT) are going to put their heads in actualizing Cebu’s BPO-IT Roadmap, as a major priority in the upcoming BPO/IT conference this June, touted as Cebu Business Month (CBM 2011).
To held on June 8, 2011, the BPO/IT event “Cebu’s Roadmap for Sustaining Growth in the ICT and BPO,” is a forum, hosted with Tholons and the Cebu Investments and Promotions Center (CIPC), on the recently launched ICT and BPO Roadmap.

Global IT Education in Cebu

Wonkwang Health Science University (WU) of Iksan, South Korea initiated “WU Global IT Education Program”, an aid project which is a part of “WU Global Initiative Program” for setting up Information Technology education center and program in Cebu.
The Martin Salimbangon Training Center located in the town of Medellin, Cebu is the beneficiary of this aid project.

NZ and US demand skilled workers from the Philippines

According to economist Nicolas Kwan, the head for Standard Chartered Bank research (East), employment demand in the United States is still growing as the country still needs skilled workers from the Philippines.
Through resilience and strong “fighting spirit”. Filipinos have a good competitive advantage which companies are looking for specifically in the struggling economic environment in the United States.
New Zealand also announces the growing demand for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) skilled workers. Highly skilled IT professionals from the Philippines is now one of the fastest growing demand in their country.
