The World’s riskiest outsourcing destinations have been determined by the US-based Black Book of Outsourcing 2009 (BBO), ranking cities on factors like terrorist threats, uncontrolled pollution, corruption and organised crime, unstable currency, geo-political conditions and unsecured network technology.

Outsourcing – The Pope’s Benediction on Global Business

Early last July 2009, His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI received flak on some of his words in his “Charity in Truth” that can be argued as “anti-outsourcing”.
Despite my curiousity, it took me awhile to get to reading the Pope’s encyclical letter to determine whether or not the Holy Father of the Roman Catholic church approves on outsourcing.

Outsourcing Philippines – Riding the Next Wave

Metro Manila, with a population of more than 10 million people across 17 cities, excellent power and telecommunications infrastructure, and abundance of colleges and universities, is the largest business process outsourcing city in the world.
Down south of the Philippines, Metro Cebu is now touted as the world’s largest emerging BPO city, ahead of the likes of Shanghai and Beijing in China, according to research firm Tholons.
However there are 10 more Philippine cities considered by the report generated by the combined efforts of the Business Processing Association of the Philippines, Commission on Information and Communications Technology and the Department of Trade and Industry to be considered as the Next Wave Cities of 2009.
