The two-day conference “PROTECT 2011: Doing Business Amidst New Threats”, will tackle issues on the necessity to plan, survive and manage recovery from natural disasters, pandemics, cyber attacks and damage to intellectual property of the business community of the Philippines.
Key national leaders have been invited to emphasize the importance of Security and provide expert knowledge at PROTECT 2011: Defense Secretary Voltaire T. Gazmin, National Security Adviser Cesar P. Garcia Jr. and Secretary of Transportation and Communications (DTC) Jose P. de Jesus.
The Department of Transportation and Communications (DTC) is the partner agency of PROTECT 2011, now on its sixth year.

Cebu’s Science and Tech Potential

Noting the Cebu City National Science High School’s sterling reputation in the fields of science and mathematics, technology company Lexmark Research and Development Corp. (LRDC) and Lexmark International Philippines Inc. (LIPI) handed over a check has decided to grant PhP4 million (USD92,000) for the improvement of the its science and mathematics programs.
Lexmark, as a technology company, hires the best minds in science and mathematics.

Philippines ICT Awards 2011

The International Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Awards is an annual event designed to advance the Philippines business proces outsourcing (BPO) sector since 2008. The awarding was held last March 31 in Dusit Thani Manila.
Now on its 5th year, the ICT Awards this 2011 was organized by the Business Processing Association of the Philippines with the support of Canadian Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines and Globe Business, the enterprise and corporate client servicing unit of Globe Telecom
The International ICT Awards honors individuals and organizations for outstanding performance in promoting the country as one of the top BPO destinations around the globe.
The Awards aim to continuously improve ICT in the Philippines by encouraging innovation and excellence among BPOs.
Among the categories is the “BPO Employer of the Year.” Winners of the award are recognized for their significant investments in human resources, exemplary practices and commitment to corporate social responsibility, among others.
The Philippines BPO industry remains strong, with organizations which collaborate to further enhance the position of the Philippines in the international market.
