Cebu hosts 2013 internat’l business-con

Cebu, Philippines was chosen as the venue for the International Conference of the Confederation of Asia-Pacific Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CACCI) this coming 2013.
Through the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI), Cebu won the bid to host the prestigious conference of business owners and chief executive officers (CEOs) in 27 countries of Asia-Pacific region.
CCCI announced that the bidding was held during the recently concluded CACCI Conference held in Istanbul, Turkey, and the Philippines (Cebu) bested other four interested countries that participated in the bid that include Pakistan, Iran, Japan, and Korea.

Cebu, Design Capital of Southeast Asia

Featuring collaboration with international designers through its Kagikan project, the CebuNext 2011 Furniture Show has succeeded in getting international interests in Cebu’s design and manufacturing industries.
The design works of Daniel Latorre-Cruz of London, Martha Cech of Vienna, Wataru Sakuma of the United States, Jinggoy Buensuceso, who is based in Singapore, and Stanley Ruiz of New York were featured at the furniture expo.

IBM launches Cloud Computing Center

IBM announced a USD38M investment in a new Asia Pacific Cloud Computing Data Center in Singapore, which will provide businesses with solutions and services to harness the potential of cloud computing.
The new facility will extend IBM’s globally-integrated cloud delivery network with centers in Germany, Canada and the United States; and 13 global cloud labs, of which seven are based in Asia Pacific – China, India, Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, Vietnam and Singapore.
