Members of Cebu’s Business Process Outsourcing and Information Technology (BPO/IT) are going to put their heads in actualizing Cebu’s BPO-IT Roadmap, as a major priority in the upcoming BPO/IT conference this June, touted as Cebu Business Month (CBM 2011).

To held on June 8, 2011, the BPO/IT event “Cebu’s Roadmap for Sustaining Growth in the ICT and BPO,” is a forum, hosted with Tholons and the Cebu Investments and Promotions Center (CIPC), on the recently launched ICT and BPO Roadmap.

Considered as one of the strongest economic boosters of the Philippines, the country’s Information Technology and Business Process Outsourcing (IT-BPO) sector sees a more robust year this 2011, as the industry projects at least USD11 billion in revenues.

The Business Processing Association of the Philippines, with its government counterpart the Commission on Information and communications Technology (CICT), expects 2011, as the “turning point” year to make the Philippines the premier destination for outsourcing investments in the world, to recognized for the top position, instead of  India.

The Canadian Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (CanCham) sets up office in Cebu, to strengthen trade relations, investment and labor mobility between Canada and Cebu.

The chamber is a non-profit organization established in 1989 whose mission is to “represent, support, and promote Canada-Philippines business interests.” It provides information, expert briefings on trade and investments issues and networking events for its members and the public.

The CanCham local chapter in Cebu will expand commercial relations between Canadian and Cebu-based businesses and investors. Its CanCham’s conviction that there is a great potential for growth in two-way trade and investment between the two countries.
