6 percent drop in world IT spending

Market research firm Gartner predicts that IT spending worldwide heads to a 6 percent drop this year, based on the economic situation and the rise in the value of the U.S. dollar against most currencies in recent months. Learn more about this forecast here

India Inc.’s Response?

As if to deal with the negative projection, major IT companies in India have reduced their client billing rates to high percentages such as 35 to 40 percent. These rates are being offered as introductory rates to new clients as well as to present clients for 1 to 2 years.

Sunny forecast in the Philippines

A similar bright forecast for the economic situation in the Philippines is declared by country’s financial/banking center, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP). The Philippines will not slip into a recession as domestic demand will be boosted by remittances as well as government efforts.
